Lisa Plummer
has been practicing yoga for over eleven years. A Los
Angeles
native, she came to yoga as a dancer looking to find more
balance in her
body. One of her first teachers was Max Strom, formerly
of Yoga Works
and Sacred Movement Center for Yoga and Healing, who
helped her not
only heal and strengthen her body, but to find a great
love for the
practice that continues to this day.
Lisa has
studied many styles of yoga but specifically enjoys
practicing and
teaching Vinyasa Flow. She has been teaching since 2002
and became
certified through the White Lotus Foundation in Santa
Barbara,
California. She currently teaches at Sherry Goldstein's Yoga
Sanctuary
where she enjoys working with students of all levels. She
teaches with
an emphasis on proper technique, conscious movement and
breath, a
sense of humor, and not taking oneself too seriously. The
joy and
freedom she continues to discover in her own practice is what
she hopes to
help others find in theirs. Lisa is also a great advocate
for animal
rights and seeks to emphasize the important connection
between yogic
philosophy and our treatment of all life on this planet.
